Frann Schollaert
Frann Schollaert - she/they - (Dendermonde, 2002) is a creator and performer from Belgium, currently based in Tilburg. His artistic development began at the Kunsthumaniora in Brussels and continued at the Fontys Academy of the Arts, with a focus on Contemporary Urban and Choreography (BACH). In graduation year 2024, Frann received the Jacques de Leeuw Prize for performance and design (annual award ceremony to two students from Fontys Academy of the Arts to honour their talent and encourage further development).
Frann Schollaert's work starts from the body as a vulnerable, living landscape where emotions, memories and tensions manifest themselves physically. Not the outer form, but the inner experience is central: feeling, being present and moving out of necessity.
“The topic of touch and boundary crossing is socially urgent. At a time when conversations about consent, intimacy and power dynamics are getting louder and louder, I want my work to open an intuitive, bodily entrance to this conversation. ”I invite audiences to look beyond judgement, and think more intimately about touch as a human need and source of conflict.”
Frann is working under the wings of DansBrabant on her new work SEXY LITTLE FUCKER, which will premiere in autumn 2026.
