From 2021, Simon was a maker at PLAN talent development Brabant, first under the auspices of Corpo Máquina and Parktheater Eindhoven, then at DansBrabant. Since 2024, Simon has been a core maker at DansBrabant.

Portrait, Balder on Blue Floor
Dancer Simon Bus is fascinated by portraits. Part of his ongoing work consists of movement portraits of which Self-portrait, Man on Orange Floor (2019) and Portrait, Balder on Blue Floor (2023) are part of it.

Portrait, Balder on Blue Floor made Simon for and with young Norwegian dancer Balder Hansen. On a 2×2 floor, Balder struggles with his ability to balance and control his body. We see him, staggering and stumbling, fighting to keep his balance.

Balder Hansen is a young dancer and intuitive performer. Graduated from the Amsterdam Dance Academy and with a background in hip-hop and knows how to mix many styles and techniques.

Simon Bus
Simon is a bizarre, unusual dancer, with his own movement language, open and always looking to exchange with other creators and new working methods. In recent years, he made several performances around his love for portraits. In 2022, Simon won the Innovation Prize Dutch Dance Days Maastricht, which will allow him to perform in 2023 Six Portraits which he presented at the Bonnefantenmuseum in Maastricht.
