Trio No. 1

By Alesya Dobysh

Tapping, spinning, jumping and falling, three dancers move through the vastness of space in an attempt to find unity.

"Where there is life, there is action; where there is action, there is movement; and where there is movement, there is pace; and where there is pace, there is rhythm."
(K. Stanislavski)

Three dancers move through the vast space as they tap, spin, jump, bounce and fall, trying to find unity. Guided by the pulsating rhythm and intricate footwork, Alesya's choreography captures the physicality of the human body: the feeling of both lightness and heaviness, weightlessness and gravity. She explores the interplay between spontaneity, discipline, freedom and restriction. The transformation from order to chaos unfolds as the dancers move from strict choreography to a playful and challenging exploration of forms and ideas.

Trio No. 1 is an exploration of the limits of the individual self and a collective attempt to find each other in enlightenment.
