Charlotte Goesaert (Antwerp, 1987) is a dancer, choreographer and performer. She graduated from the Fontys dance school in 2009 and has worked with SKaGeN, Tuning People, Romeo Castelucci, RO Theater and others. With her work, Charlotte explores the boundaries of movement, music and image. Her work is raw and meticulous. From 2023, Charlotte will be a core creator at DansBrabant.

BAKENEKO is a documentary performance about trauma and how it stores itself in the body. How does a body speak where superficially there is not much wrong with it, but under the skin there is pain, fear and sadness?

Interviews, reporting and atmospheric images form the initial input for a physical performance in which documentary realism and imagination skim past each other. Building on the experience with whatchamacallit, Charlotte Goesaert uses image, sound and live performance to create an intimate and at the same time horribly lonely world. A museum-like set-up and minimal distance between player and audience ensure that even the gruesome cannot be avoided.
