For War and Peace
Anthony van Gog
During The Sound of C at C-Mine (Genk, BE), you will discover artists who shamelessly transcend boundaries of different (music) genres, putting pop and subculture at the centre of their work. In this context, Anthony van Gog shows his For War and Peace, which he made especially for museum De Pont in Tilburg in 2024.
For War and Peace
In an interplay of ambient sounds, low bass and surging noise, we see a sculpture slowly change shape. Limbs appear and disappear, bodies merge and faces conceal themselves. For War and Peace is a performance in which eight figures dressed in black combine to form one elusive, ever-transforming body in which nothing is what it seems.
Originally originated For War and Peace in response to the exhibition War and Peace: a Poetics of Gesture by Beatriz González at museum De Pont. For The Sound of C, the performance will take on a new, specially adapted form.
