crowdkill
Anthony van Gog
What happens when the body is overwhelmed by space and sound?
crowdkill is a physical experience - for performer and audience alike. What happens when the body is overwhelmed by space and sound? What remains when the body finds no other point of recognition than the body itself? Find out in a space filled with four huge subwoofers and an intense soundscape to which the body surrenders.
PLANmaker Anthony van Gog (1996) will spend the next few years working under the wings of DansBrabant on his research into the "selfless body" - the idea that we humans have no fixed core, but that identity forms by mirroring what happens outside us. Self-development is thus no longer a steadily building development, but a "falling in all directions, without any foothold, a constantly mutating body".
