BothBodies
SKYPUNCH COLLECTIVE
At BothBodies Two performers enter an elusive world of light and illusion, searching for where the Self ends and the Other begins. Moving around a transparent, reflective screen, they appear to be moving within each other’s physical space; their bodies appear and disappear
again, they flow into one another and merge.
Through this highly evocative choreography, SKYPUNCH COLLECTIVE explores how the boundaries between bodies can soften and transform. What unfolds is a surreal reality in constant motion, in which images emerge and dissolve with equal speed.
Straddling the line between intimacy and alienation, dream and physical presence, it invites BothBodies It takes the audience on a poetic journey; a mesmerising choreography that invites you to look at reality – and everything that moves, shifts and transforms within it – in a different light.
SKYPUNCH COLLECTIVE is the interdisciplinary performance collective founded by Anna Zurkirchen and Celine Werkhoven. Rooted in the language of dance, they create hybrid works that combine movement, scenography and audiovisual elements to explore themes of intimacy, perception and identity.
Their fascination with human sensations results in performances and live experiences that stimulate the senses, set in a variety of settings – from traditional theatres to natural landscapes, video installations and public spaces. Playfully balancing between the surreal and the real, they seek ways to challenge and broaden the audience’s perception.
